1. i've gotten... a lot of questions about how to pronounce my name. so after many, many failed attempts at trying to spell it out phonetically, i just broke down and recorded my voice. so, i guess, if you're interested, you can hear me say it here. so... yeah. i'm going to delete it soon.

2. i just read A Northern Light and it was BEAUTIFUL. definitely one of the best books i've read in too long. i'm so late to this party but OMG if you haven't read it, definitely put that book on your TBR pile.

3. let's not kid ourselves, this is a cop out of a blog post.

4. this is really funny.

5. i'm beginning to realize that a lot of writing-related questions i get through my email are probably best answered on my blog -- if only because i think the answers might interest more than one person. so. if you have any questions (feel free to remain anonymous), you can go ahead and drop them in here, and i'll do my best to answer them in an upcoming blog post.

have a great weekend, everyone! what's on YOUR TBR pile?

I realize I've butchered your name for a while now. But now I know better!

I'm hoping to finish reading EON, which is wonderful so far, and start PLAIN KATE soon. :)

Yay. Now I know how to say your name properly :)

TBR pile wise, I've got BUMPED to read. And I just got DIE FOR ME today.

Adding A Northern Light to the list now.

You know how you think someone's voice would sound a certain way and you're surprised when it doesn't? Yeah, that. But you do have a lovely voice; that I did expect. :)

Thank you for Ron and Hermione.

Yay! I'm glad I know how to pronounce your name now. It was fun hearing your voice. I have a difficult-to-pronounce name too so maybe one day I'll need to make my own recording. :)

Happy weekend!

I love that you recorded your voice on how to pronounce your name. That was awesome.

My TBR pile includes:

- The Emerald Atlas, by John Stephens
- The Book of Lost Things, by John Connolly
- a Roald Dahl biography

That's a big pile for me. I think I'll either read The Gathering, Born At Midnight or Spellbound.

Have a great weekend!

First of all, I am from the South. I have seriously tried but there is no way in hell I can pronounce that name. Sorry. I am going to keep calling you 'Tyree' like I have been for like a year now.

At least it's not Bob.

My tbr pile includes my stuff and a new employee handbook from the dayjob. I have a feeling my weekend is going to suck. Oh wait...it's Mother's Day so maybe not.

It was nice to hear your voice, and nice to know how to pronounce your name.

This weekend I'll be curling up with Camo Girl, by Kekla Magoon.

Like most people, I've totally been pronouncing your name wrong. I think it was one of the examples of wrong ways to pronounce your name. In any case, thank you for clearing up this mystery! :D

At the top of my TBR:

White Cat - Holly Black
Wither - Lauren DeStefano
Hex Hall - Rachel Hawkins
Plain Kate - Erin Bow

That's a beautiful name. I'm reading Middlemarch by George Elliot. Good but long ... It was on my TBR self for decades so it was time.

It sounds so much better when you say it. I know that it is hard to know if we are pronouncing it correctly, but now you have clarified that I am sure only a few have been correct. Thank you for taking the time to do that for us. It was a really neat clip.

Ahhh, I ALMOST picked up "A Northern Light" a couple weeks back...I'll definitely have to do that now.

Work is keeping me away from my reading (SADFACE), but I'm going to try to continue my "Game of Thrones" and "Imaginary Girls" reading this weekend.

Have a great weekend!

There is no way of saying this without sounding slightly creepy but I love your voice. /creeper

I have Northern Lights (aka The Golden Compass) to finish and then Catching Fire to look forward to. I know, I'm so behind in my YA reading!

That's such a beautiful pronunciation of your name! And I have to agree with the poster above me without sounding like a total creeper. I love your voice!

Right now on my TBR pile is the Hunger Games. I know I'm waaaaay behind but now that I've started I feel ashamed I didn't join the hype sooner. ;)

I totally always botched your name in my head, so thanks for clearing that up. And I LOVE the pronunciation. On top of that, you have a gorgeous voice!

So yeah, more things about you I can be jealous about, basically. ;)

Hmmm...I definitely thought your name was...um...Tahereh, like the Spanish word for homework. Like that. And I will add to all the other stalkerish comments and say that you have a nice voice. You sound so calm--not like the caffeine addict you profess to be.

TBR-wise: My life right now is sad because my TBR pile is empty. :(

Happy Sunday for tomorrow T. You read is on my list now, thank you for this heads up.

So glad you cleared up the pronunciation thing. I assumed it was just a cute way of spelling Tara. Now I'll actually have to work at it. At least now I know what to do.

So, I've never really been bothered about how to pronounce your name, but having listened to it, that was definitely not what I would have come up with.

Reminds me of Hermione, who, pre-Potter movies, I called Her-me-own. :(

Maybe this is creepy, but I like you even more now, because not only are you entertaining/hilarious and an awesome writer/blogger/person, but you have a really cute voice!

AND an awesome sounding name.

Man. Some people have all the luck.

You have a beautiful name! And a lovely sounding voice. :-)

Thanks for the book recommendation, the pronunciation lesson, and the rest!

Oh, my TBR: Harry Potter (because I'm living under a rock); 13 Reasons Why (because my rock is really cozy, seriously); Thirsty by M T Anderson (because he's awesome); Liar; Bumped (okay, the rock isn't that big); The Earth, My Butt, and Other Big Round Things (because I love the title); and a whole whack of chapter books and MG. It's a big pile.

I just finished Divergent, which I liked (even though some things about the ending bugged me) - it asks some good questions about identity, nature vs nurture, etc. Worth picking up.
